Windows connect: View of a country, a world, a future.
A cross-cultural composition of perspectives.
With its second project, "Windows connect," the Wilhelm Frank Foundation brought young people from different countries into contact. The great result: intercultural video compositions with diverse perspectives on the window as a unifying element.
Shared intercultural exchange: That was the focus of the Wilhelm Frank Foundation's second project. Titled "Windows connect" and two years after its successful first project, the foundation invited young people around the world to explore their view of their home country, one world, one future, and the unifying element of the window. The special feature: This time, the participants - employees of the Roto Frank group of companies between 18 and 35 years of age and from company locations in different countries - worked on the task in international teams.
The young men and women from Brazil, China, Germany, Hungary, Peru, Spain, Poland and the USA were given no limits to their creativity. They were simply asked to record their ideas in the form of videos and to agree on common transition scenes between the individual clips. This task developed into a fruitful creative process with numerous video conferences across countries, time zones and cultures - at the end of which there are four impressive video compositions with interesting, multifaceted perspectives.
The winning team comes from Brazil and China
A jury made up of the foundation's board of directors and foundation council evaluated the project work received according to content and technical criteria. This was not an easy task in view of the convincing submissions. After an evaluation and assessment phase, the jury awarded the first place to the team of Simin Wang (China), Rômolo Lins de Jesus and Anderson Mota (both Brazil). The Chinese-Brazilian trio impressed with a technically carefully crafted, finely tuned arrangement of their individual perspectives on their respective countries, our world and the future.
