A Window to the World: Privacy policy

Thank you for your interest in our project "A Window to the World: Insights into a Global Community". The protection of your personal data is important to us. In the following, we inform you about the processing of personal data in the context of our project.

As part of "A Window to the World: Insights into a Global Community", we collect the following data:

  • First and last name
  • Birthday
  • Job title
  • Home country
  • Place of residence
  • E-mail address

The data is transmitted via an online form by the project participants. This is voluntary and is therefore based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.

 

(3) Purpose of data processing

Your data will be processed as part of the project "A Window to the World: Insights into a Global Community".

The data will be used for publication in the project work, for the Foundation's public relations work and, if you have given your consent when submitting your data, in social media and on the Wilhelm Frank Foundation website.

 

(4) Data transfer to external service providers

Your data will be passed on to our service partner, the agency SCHLEINER + PARTNER Kommunikation GmbH (hereinafter referred to as the "Agency"). Your personal data will be processed by the agency as part of order processing in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.

The agency is prohibited from passing on your personal information or using it for other purposes, in particular for its own advertising purposes.

Through legal, technical and organizational measures as well as regular checks, we ensure that the agency complies with the applicable data protection regulations.

Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties for commercial purposes.

 

(5) Data security

The data is stored centrally by the agency SCHLEINER + PARTNER Kommunikation GmbH for processing the project.

The agency uses technical and organizational security measures to protect your data managed by us against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons. The security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.

 

(6) Duration of storage

We only store your personal data for as long as is necessary for the implementation of the project "A Window to the World: Insights into a Global Community".

 

(7) Rights of data subjects

If your personal data is processed, you are a data subject within the meaning of the GDPR and you have the following rights vis-à-vis the controller:

a) Right to information

In accordance with Art. 15 GDPR, you can request confirmation from us as to whether personal data concerning you is being processed by us. If we process your data, you are entitled to further rights to information specified in Art. 15 GDPR.

b) Right to rectification

If the data we have collected from you is incorrect or incomplete, you can demand that we correct it immediately in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR.

c) Right to restriction of processing

Under the conditions of Art. 18 GDPR, you may also request the restriction of the processing of personal data concerning you.

After the restriction, your data may only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the Union or of a Member State. We will inform you before the restriction is lifted.

d) Right to erasure

If one of the reasons under Art. 17 para. 1 GDPR applies, you can demand that we delete the personal data concerning you immediately, unless there is an exception to the deletion obligation under Art. 17 para. 3 GDPR.

e) Right to information

If you have asserted the right to rectification, erasure or restriction of processing against us, we are obliged under Art. 19 GDPR to inform all recipients of your personal data of this, unless the notification is impossible or involves disproportionate effort. You also have the right to be informed about the recipients. You have the right vis-à-vis the controller to be informed about these recipients.

f) Right to data portability

In addition, in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR, you have the right to receive the personal data concerning you from us in a machine-readable format and to transmit the data to another controller without hindrance, provided that the requirements of Art. 20 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR are met, or to obtain that your personal data be transmitted directly by us to another controller, insofar as this is technically feasible and no freedoms and rights of other persons are affected. This right does not apply to the processing of personal data necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority.

g) Right of objection

You have the right to object at any time to the Wilhelm Frank Foundation to the processing of personal data concerning you pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

We will no longer process your personal data unless there are legitimate grounds for processing that outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.

h) Right to revoke the declaration of consent under data protection law

You have the right to withdraw your declaration of consent under data protection law at any time by notifying the Wilhelm Frank Foundation. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
